Pakistan need a win and then hope for the results of other matches to go in their favour. Precisely, they need a win and then hope that India do not win against Australia on Sunday. For Australia, it is an easier equation. They have to win against Australia and then beat India to make it to semis. If they lose in Mohali, they need to post a win with a big margin against India to get their NRR better than Pakistan.
The current standing in Group 2 have New Zealand at the top with six points. India are second with four points. Pakistan are third with two points. Australia too have two points but are fourth because of lesser NRR than Pakistan. Bangladesh have not secured any points after their three matches.
